Human remains found in Katrine

OPP report that human remains have been found in a wooded area near Katrine on Friday.
Police say the identity of the deceased has yet to be confirmed. The investigation is continuing with the assistance of the OPP Almaguin Highlands Crime Unit, OPP Emergency Response Team, the OPP Forensic Identification Services, and the Office of the Chief Coroner and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service.
Police believe there is no threat to public safety.
More information will be released when it becomes available.
