Muskoka Authors Association welcomes bestselling author Amy Stuart to speak at its upcoming meeting on May 14. She will offer an honest and empowering look at what it truly means to build a sustainable writing life.

Challenging the long-held belief that successful writing demands rigid daily schedules, ambitious word counts, and relentless deadlines, instead, Amy invites writers—both emerging and established—to explore a more realistic and sustainable approach. Through thoughtful reflection and practical insight, participants will discover how to balance the demands of everyday life with creative ambition, open meaningful writing windows, and protect and make the most of the time they do have.

Amy Stuart is the author of four bestselling novels, including A Death at the Party, which reached #1 on bestseller lists, as well as Still Mine, Still Water, and Still Here. In 2024, she co-wrote hockey legend Mats Sundin’s #1 bestselling memoir, Home and Away. Beyond her literary success, Amy brings a dynamic and multifaceted perspective to her work—she is one of the few women head coaches in the Greater Toronto Hockey League, the world’s largest youth competitive hockey league, and a former high school teacher with the Toronto District School Board. She is also the founder of Writerscape, an online community supporting writers at all stages of their journey.

Warm, relatable, and refreshingly candid, Amy’s presentation promises to resonate deeply with anyone striving to nurture creativity in a busy world.

Writers and readers alike are invited to attend this engaging session and leave with a renewed sense of possibility—and a writing practice that truly fits their life.
