Raised on a farm in rural New Brunswick, Foster grew up surrounded by woods, animals, and the steady rhythms of country life. Many of the songs on Powerline were inspired by that place and explore themes of belonging, change, and letting go. Her music has been praised for its warmth, melodic sensibility, and emotional honesty.
