Muskoka Morning
I fell into my position as a radio host in the early 2000’s when Hunters Bay Radio was not much bigger than a 10X10 room in the basement of the building where the current studio is now. My journey in radio at The Bay began as the host of “Breaking the Day” - all request breakfast on Saturday mornings, and quickly evolved to include organizing and hosting “Talent on the Bay”. It was my involvement with “Talent on the Bay” where I began to imbue myself as a support for local talent, mixing my love for music with celebrating local artists. Whether the art was performing music, theatrical performances, visual art, writing or juggling, I embraced it all! For the last several years I have grown with The Bay to become the co-host of “Muskoka Morning”.

The music I get to play, and the community members that I have the pleasure of interviewing on a daily basis, are perks that I enjoy in my role, but it is the listeners that I show up for everyday!
Growing up in Huntsville in the 70’s and 80’s shaped my expectations of what ‘community’ means to me today. On my daily walk to Huntsville Public School, from my home on Fairy Avenue, I knew all the shopkeepers, and they knew me. Ray Porter crossed me at the corner of Main and Centre Street, handing out bubble gum on Friday afternoons. By Grade 8, when it became obvious that I had spent more time at school coming up with ideas like opening a kissing booth, as an inter school fundraiser, instead of concerning myself with getting the same stellar grades that my 3 older sisters had, my parents decided that private school may benefit my learning style best. I spent my highschool years at Pickering College in Newmarket. It was there that I discovered my passion for acting.
Emerging from a 3 year program as a graduate of The National Theatre School of Canada, I continued with my talent agency to pursue work in television, film and radio. Continuing that journey, I have had the great pleasure of working with many well celebrated actors, musicians and writers, in several television and film productions.
