If he decides to run, he would seek the nomination for the vacancy left by Aitchison
The Toronto Star is reporting that former Conservative cabinet minister Tony Clement is considering a return to federal politics in Parry Sound-Muskoka.
The riding's current MP, Scott Aitchison, plans to step down by the end of next month, and Conservative insiders say Clement's name is being discussed as a possible replacement candidate.
Clement represented the riding from 2006 to 2019, serving in former Prime Minister Stephen Harper's cabinet.
Speaking with The Bay, he has not confirmed whether he'll seek the nomination or not.
