The Fire Dept. recommends having your chimney inspected yearly.
Firefighters from Port Carling and Foots Bay responded to a chimney fire on Foreman Road on April 18th.
Upon arrival, crews used extinguishing agents to put out the flames escaping from the chimney.
The Fire Dept. says the homeowner had already taken appropriate action to control the fire and sought confirmation from fire services.
Thermal imaging was used to ensure the appliance and chimney were safe.
The Muskoka Lakes Fire Department reminds residents to have their chimneys inspected annually by a qualified professional to prevent fires.
