CSC conducted a search of the facility
A lockdown has been lifted at Beaver Creek Institution in Gravenhurst following a security search.
Correctional Service Canada says the medium-security unit was temporarily locked down to allow staff to carry out an exceptional search aimed at ensuring the safety of employees and inmates.
Visits were suspended during the operation and will resume once normal operations are fully restored.
Officials say the institution returned to regular activity as soon as it was safe to do so.
