Five local youths will use the funds to further their education
Lakeland Networks and Lakeland Generation have awarded bursaries to five local students from Muskoka, Parry Sound, and Almaguin.
This year’s $5,000 B. Ingram Excellence Award went to Mackenzie Devoe of Nobel, who is studying Mechanical Engineering at Ontario Tech University.
Four $1,500 bursaries were also presented to graduating students: Lachlan McCreadie from Bracebridge, Thomas Murphy from Huntsville, Keith Rubin, from Almaguin Highlands and Reese Pamajewong from Parry Sound.
The company says the awards honour academic excellence and support students who may one day bring their skills back to strengthen their communities.
