The report follows complaints by parents at the beginning of the school year
Parry Sound–Muskoka MPP Graydon Smith says the province’s investigation into the Near North District School Board is a damning indictment of systemic governance failure.
He says the breakdown in leadership, the lack of professionalism, and the incompetence outlined in the Education Minister, Paul Calendra’s report are unacceptable — and he’s calling on those at the centre of it to consider whether they should remain in their roles.
Education Minister Paul Calandra has issued 15 binding directions the board must now implement, after the review found trustees acted in bad faith and senior administration failed to lead — contributing to delays in opening the new JK-to-12 Parry Sound school.
The board must immediately begin compliance and report back to the province.
