The work is part of a new Main Streets Initiative
Work is set to begin this September on a major overhaul of Muskoka Road 117 through Baysville.
The District of Muskoka and Township of Lake of Bays say the 780-metre stretch will get a new road surface, traffic calming features, a modern roundabout, and safer pedestrian crossings. Plans also include a new multi-use trail and sidewalk.
Officials say the project is designed to make Baysville’s main street safer, more welcoming, and better for both residents and visitors.
The District says it’s the first step in the new Muskoka Main Streets initiative, which could expand to other communities in the future.
