Police are checking for permits, licencing, registration and insurance
Snowmobilers in the Almaguin Highlands are being reminded to ride safe and legal as Ontario Provincial Police step up patrols on OFSC trails.
The Almaguin Highlands OPP and the SAVE unit say officers are checking for valid trail permits, insurance, registration and proper licences.
Riders are urged to obey posted speed limits, avoid impaired driving and use extra caution near frozen lakes and waterways.
Police say no ice is ever completely safe and are asking anyone who sees unsafe activity to contact the OPP.
