Environment Canada says we could see 5-10mm in accumulation
The Town of Huntsville is warning residents to prepare for a possible ice storm beginning later today.
Environment Canada’s forecast suggests significant freezing rain and heavy rainfall could move into the area this evening and continue through Wednesday night. Officials say freezing rain may fall heavily at times, creating the potential for icy surfaces, localized flooding in low-lying areas, and possible power outages from ice buildup and strong winds.
The town says Public Works crews have been preparing equipment and will be ready to respond to keep roads and sidewalks as safe as possible.
Residents are encouraged to prepare a 72-hour emergency kit and have a plan in place in case of extended power outages or damage to homes. Updates will be posted on the Town of Huntsville’s website and social
