Municipalities will get help covering some of their clean up costs from the storm
MPP Graydon Smith says the province is stepping up to help communities recover from last March’s ice storm, announcing more than $2.6 million in funding for South Muskoka municipalities.
The Town of Bracebridge will receive $348,000, Gravenhurst $243,000, Muskoka Lakes $847,000, Georgian Bay $15,000, and the District of Muskoka will receive $1.24 million.
Smith says the support will cover emergency response and cleanup costs, easing the financial burden on residents while helping the region rebuild stronger after widespread damage and power outages.
