The man was also charged with possession of a weapon
A Gravenhurst man is facing multiple charges following a daytime theft at a local store.
Police say officers with the Ontario Provincial Police responded to a report of a theft in progress Thursday afternoon at a retailer on Muskoka Road South in Gravenhurst.
Investigators say the suspect fled on foot after being confronted by staff, but members of the public helped track his movements until officers arrived. Police say the man then experienced a medical emergency and was taken to hospital in custody.
33-year-old Brandon Condrey of Gravenhurst is charged with theft under $5000, assault with a weapon, and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. He’s due in court in Bracebridge this week.
