They will be visiting neighbours the ensure smoke and CO alarms are working
Bracebridge Fire is launching its annual door-to-door smoke and carbon monoxide alarm campaign.
Starting Monday nights from 7 to 9 p.m. through September, firefighters will visit urban neighbourhoods to remind residents to check alarms and review fire safety. They will not enter homes, but follow-up visits can be arranged.
The Town is urging residents to ensure smoke and CO alarms are working, following a recent rise in residential fires. By law, Ontario homes must have smoke alarms on every level and CO alarms where required.
Residents are also reminded to test alarms monthly and have a fire escape plan.
