A new by-law regulates the removal of trees in the municipality
Bracebridge residents planning summer landscaping or construction projects are being reminded to check the Town's tree-cutting rules before removing trees from their property.
The Town says its new Tree Cutting By-law, approved late last year, regulates the removal of larger trees in areas such as waterfront properties, urban neighbourhoods, environmentally sensitive lands and areas near Highway 11.
To make the process easier, Bracebridge has launched a new online tree removal reporting tool that allows residents to submit photos and property information for review. Officials say failing to follow the by-law could result in fines or other enforcement action.
