The project is part of redevelopment plans on the old arena site
A major step forward has been taken on a new affordable housing project in downtown Bracebridge.
Town council has approved a zoning amendment for the redevelopment of the former Memorial Arena site, clearing the way for more detailed planning.
The project is expected to create more than 100 housing units, with at least 25 per cent of units in each building designated as affordable housing.
The town says work continues on design, approvals and agreements before construction can begin.
