Bracebridge's list of candidates in the municipal election

Nominations closed at 2pm today

The list of candidates for Bracebridge’s 2026 municipal election is taking shape, with nominations closing today at 2 p.m.

Two people are running for mayor: Rick Maloney and Norman Raynor.

Four candidates are seeking three District Council seats: Christian McEachran Morin, Brenda Rhodes, Don Smith and Tatiana Sutherland.

In the ward races, Brian Koehn and Debbie Vernon are running in Bracebridge Ward. Barry Hammond is the only candidate in Monck/Muskoka Ward.

Macaulay Ward has Donna Kearney and Andrew Struthers, while Draper Ward has Laura Craig and Cindy Waters. Barb McMurray is the only candidate in Oakley Ward.

The Town says the list is uncertified, and additional nominations could be accepted August 26 if any race does not have enough candidates.

Voting in Bracebridge will take place online or by telephone from October 14th through October 26th.
