Co-op to face decision on whether to dissolve after money troubles

Wednesday, 26 August 2026 09:51

The co-op currently owes $400,000 to suppliers

The Muskoka North Good Food Co-operative is facing insolvency, with its remaining director estimating the organization's unpaid debts at about $400,000.

Members will meet August 31 to decide whether to voluntarily dissolve the co-op and liquidate its remaining assets. The meeting comes after years of unpaid vendor invoices and amid concerns about the organization's ability to continue operating.

At least 50 verified members must attend for quorum, and the dissolution proposal will require a two-thirds majority to pass.

The meeting is from 7 to 9 p.m. at 1 Crescent Road in Huntsville.
