The District says the request was not sufficiently developed to move forward
The District of Muskoka is declining to provide funding for The Table Soup Kitchen Foundation's proposed Table Plaza project at this time.
A report going before committee this week says The Table's request for $1.2 million was not sufficiently developed for staff to recommend funding.
The proposed Huntsville project would expand the organization's food bank, food rescue and Exchange Store programs while adding a grocery emporium, café, hydroponic garden, art space and a warming and cooling centre.
District staff are instead encouraging The Table to pursue support through Muskoka's updated community grant program while discussions about future collaboration continue.
