E-scooter operator charged with impaired

Police say scooters are not permitted on public roads in Huntsville

A Huntsville woman is facing an impaired driving charge after police responded to an e-scooter crash.

Huntsville OPP were called to a single e-scooter collision on Earls Road Friday afternoon.

Police say the investigation resulted in a charge of impaired operation with a blood alcohol concentration over the legal limit against 36-year-old Huntsville woman.

She was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in Bracebridge court October 20th.

Police are reminding residents that impaired driving laws apply to e-scooter operators. They also note that e-scooters are not permitted on public roads in Huntsville.
