Firefighters were able to save 2 garages
Ten Firefighters from Milford Bay & Port Carling attended a fast moving grass fire on Muskoka Road 118 yesterday afternoon.
Crews were able to bring the .85 acre fire under control in 30 minutes saving two structures. The fire is believed to be caused by an outdoor burn that reignited due to winds.
The unattended fire was reported quickly, this saved the two garages that were under threat. One garage had heat damage to the siding.
The Fire Dept urges you to ensure that any outdoor burning is extinguished before you leave.
Soak your fire, stir it, then soak it again. Make sure you can touch it with your bare hand.
