Roads in low lying areas are already flooding, with waters expected to rise
The Town of Huntsville says water levels have climbed significantly over the past 24 hours and are expected to keep rising over the coming week, with localized flooding already being reported in vulnerable areas.
Officials say the Rivercove area is experiencing high water, and low-lying parts of the downtown core may also be affected. Some roads are already flooding, with crews installing barricades and signage where needed.
Residents are being advised to follow all road closures, secure property, and use sandbag stations now open at the Active Living Centre and Port Sydney Fire Department.
Town officials say public works crews will remain focused on flood response as rain and spring runoff continue.
