Students are getting a look at various policing specialties including K9, Emergency Response and more
Some big news out of Haliburton County—future officers are getting a hands-on start.
Ontario Provincial Police in the Haliburton Highlands has launched its very first Youth Police Academy.
Twenty students have already jumped in, with sessions underway since late March.
Participants are getting an inside look at policing, including specialized units like K9, Emergency Response, and off-road enforcement teams.
Officials say it’s all about building skills, confidence, and a better understanding of policing in the community.
