Crews from Lake of Bays and Algonquin Highlands responded to the structure fire
Lake of Bays Fire Rescue responded to a major structure fire Saturday afternoon at a home on Owls Court in Lake of Bays.
Crews from several local stations, along with mutual aid from Algonquin Highlands, arrived to find smoke and flames spreading from the residence into nearby brush. Firefighters quickly contained the fire and protected a nearby garage from further damage.
No one was home at the time and there were no injuries reported.
Damage is estimated at about $1.5 million. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
