The scholarships can be from $300 to $1500 for students aged 16 and under, and 17 and over
The Huntsville Festival of the Arts is now accepting applications for its annual scholarship program supporting young performers in the region.
The program provides financial assistance for youth studying music, theatre, dance, and technical areas of the performing arts such as stage management, lighting, set design and sound. Since launching in 1997, more than 100 local students have received support.
Two categories are available. Junior scholarships for those 16 and under can provide up to $300 toward training or equipment, while senior scholarships for those 17 and older offer up to $1,500.
Applicants must live in the Huntsville or Lake of Bays area. The deadline to apply is March 26 at 5 p.m., with auditions and interviews scheduled for March 29 at the Algonquin Theatre.
