The canoes will be used into street inspired works of art, displayed at River Mill Park
Huntsville Festival of the Arts is asking residents to donate unused canoes for its upcoming 2026 Canoe Mural Project.
The annual Canada Day initiative will feature seven artists transforming donated canoes into street-art-inspired works, created live in downtown Huntsville on July 1.
The finished pieces will be displayed throughout the summer at River Mill Park, showcasing local art, heritage, and Canada’s canoe culture.
Organizers say donated canoes don’t need to be seaworthy, and contributors will receive a charitable tax receipt for their support.
