The Huntsville Fire Department is getting a boost to support the well-being of its crews.
The department has received a $25,000 grant from the Province of Ontario to fund mental health and leadership training for firefighters and their families. Huntsville is one of just 80 departments across the province selected for the funding.
Officials say the program will focus on resilience, stress management, and leadership skills, while also recognizing the role families play in supporting first responders.
The training is expected to roll out in the coming months, helping strengthen both firefighter wellness and overall emergency response.
