The high rainfall expected on the weekend could impact local roads and properties
The Town of Huntsville is urging residents to prepare for possible flooding as warmer temperatures and heavy rain move into the region. Environment forecasts call for 30 to 50 millimetres of rain from late Friday night through Saturday, which combined with melting snow could create hazardous conditions. Officials say localized flooding is already being reported on some town roads and in low-lying areas.
The town reminds residents to stay away from fast-moving waterways and avoid ice-covered lakes and rivers.
The municipality is working with the Ministry of Natural Resources to monitor conditions and will provide updates if flooding risks increase.
