Officials warn never to leave a fire unattended
The Village of Burk’s Falls is lowering its fire rating to Low starting November 1st, allowing daytime open-air burning once again.
Residents are reminded to keep brush fires small—no larger than two metres by two metres—and to follow the rules in burning By-law. Fires should never be left unattended, and they must be fully extinguished before leaving the area.
Officials say by burning responsibly, the community can enjoy open-air fires safely this season.
