Daytime burning is still prohibited
The Town of Kearney has updated its fire rating to moderate as of today.
That means daytime burning is banned between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. until the end of October. Campfires are still allowed, but they can’t be bigger than two feet by two feet and must be supervised at all times.
Officials remind residents to keep water or an extinguisher nearby and never leave a fire unattended.
Anyone with questions can contact Fire Chief Paul Schaefer at the town office.
