King William Construction to keep two-way traffic

Friday, 5 June 2026 05:58

The work is expected to start soon and run through to the end of the year

The District of Muskoka says it will maintain two-way traffic along King William Street in Huntsville as the District of Muskoka prepares to launch a major reconstruction project this June.  Earlier plans included one lane heading south, but feedback from businesses and the public gave the District the opportunity to change their plans.

The work, running from Scott Street to Highway 60, will continue through the end of 2026 and includes upgrades to water, wastewater, storm sewer and road infrastructure. Officials say the project is aimed at supporting future growth in Huntsville, including capacity for up to 3,200 new homes.

Drivers should expect significant delays in both directions and are being urged to allow extra travel time. Despite the construction, access to businesses and pedestrian crossings will remain open throughout the project.
