The Marianne Girling Nature Reserve was created from bequest from Marianne Girling
The Lake of Bays Heritage Foundation has permanently protected a 107-acre property near the Bona Vista cottage community.
The Marianne Girling Nature Reserve was purchased through a bequest from Marianne Girling’s estate and will help protect forests, wetlands and wildlife habitat.
A recent survey found 249 species on the property, including nine species at risk. The reserve will now be protected for future generations.
