100-year-old Lawrence Main was one of many members of the Legion to be honoured on Sunday
A centenarian Second World War veteran was honoured in Huntsville on Sunday for an extraordinary milestone marking eight decades of service with the Royal Canadian Legion.
Members of Branch 232 and guests gathered Sunday for a luncheon celebrating 100-year-old Lawrence Main who served in the Canadian Army from 1944 to 1946 and joined the Legion shortly after returning home in 1946.
Main, who has held leadership roles in multiple Legion branches over the years, received standing ovations and tributes from community leaders, elected officials, and fellow veterans recognizing his lifelong dedication and service.
In addition to Mr. Main, the Legion honoured the following:
