Magnetawan council has reversed its decision to expropriate a downtown property at on Sparks Street. The move, originally planned to turn the lot into parkland, sparked public outrage over a lack of consultation.
Owner Collin James criticized council, saying they ignored his plans for a commercial building.
Mayor Sam Dunnett said council wasn’t aware of formal development applications, but insisted the expropriation bylaw is now rescinded.
