The funding, helped upgrade the community rink, plus new amenities
McMurrich/Monteith has officially unveiled its new playground, pickleball courts, and upgraded trail signage. The $63,300 project, funded by the Ontario Trillium Foundation, also improved the community rink, now outfitted for basketball, floor hockey, and year-round activities.
Deputy Mayor Vicky Roeder-Martin thanked the foundation, municipal staff, and volunteers, saying the upgrades reflect the community’s commitment to health, recreation, and connection.
Parry Sound-Muskoka MPP Graydon Smith praised the funding as vital for smaller communities, especially as costs rise for playground equipment.
The improvements aim to provide spaces for residents of all ages to stay active and engaged.
