The dept. says you should still use 911 for emergencies
Muskoka Lakes Fire Department now has a new non-emergency phone number for residents.
The number is 705-909-0001 and can be used for matters that need the department’s attention but do not pose an immediate threat to life, health or property.
That includes reporting a fire that has already been put out, getting help with smoke or carbon monoxide alarms, and reporting illegal burning.
The department says 911 should still be used for all emergencies. If you’re unsure whether a situation is an emergency, call 911.
