The marathon is accepting registration for this year's event which runs in July
Writers in Muskoka are being invited to take on a unique creative challenge this summer while supporting a good cause. Registration is now open for the 2026 Muskoka Novel Marathon, where participants attempt to write a novel in just 72 hours. The event runs July 16th to 19th at the Port Sydney Community Hall and online, marking its 25th anniversary. Organizers say the marathon has helped launch writing careers while raising thousands for adult literacy programs through YMCA Simcoe Muskoka. Space is limited, with just 40 in-person spots available, and proceeds support literacy services across the region.
