Registration is open until January 31st to nominate someone for the Doug Cross Stewardship recognition program

A Muskoka environmental group is once again shining a spotlight on the people quietly protecting the region’s lakes and forests.

The Muskoka Watershed Council is bringing back the Doug Cross Stewardship Recognition Program for 2026, marking its fifth year. The program honours volunteers and community members who go above and beyond to protect local watersheds.

Participating organizations can register in January to receive a free recognition package for a deserving member. Registration is open until January 31.
