It's part of the District's $30 million Big Move on Housing project
Construction is set to begin this month on a new affordable housing project in Gravenhurst. The development at 575 First Street South will add six transitional housing units, with residents expected to move in by the end of the summer.
The project is part of the District of Muskoka's 30-million-dollar Big Move on Housing initiative aimed at increasing housing options and reducing homelessness across the region.
District Chair Jeff Lehman says the development will provide stable, energy-efficient housing while connecting residents with community supports. A public information session, known as a Construction Café, is being held June 3 at the Gravenhurst Public Library.
