Mammography services in Huntsville are paused until the new machine is installed
Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare says a major upgrade is coming to breast imaging services in Huntsville.
A brand-new mammography unit, featuring advanced tomography technology, is set to open at Huntsville District Memorial Hospital in February, thanks to support from the Huntsville Hospital Foundation and the community.
The MAHC says that to prepare for the installation, mammography services at the Huntsville site are temporarily paused. Patients needing urgent imaging will be seen at South Muskoka Memorial Hospital, while routine screening appointments will be rebooked once the new unit is operational.
Hospital officials say the upgrade will deliver clearer images, faster results, and an improved patient experience.
