He will appear in an Orillia courtroom in October
An OPP officer from Gravenhurst has been charged after allegedly discharging a firearm during a training exercise when its use was not authorized.
34-year-old Provincial Constable Harinder Thakur was arrested August 10th and charged with careless use of a firearm and reckless discharge of a firearm. The incident happened May 7th and was investigated by the OPP Professional Standards Unit.
Thakur has seven years of service and is a member of the Emergency Response Team. He is currently suspended with pay and is scheduled to appear in Orillia court October 13th.
