The fund is open to sport organizations to help build, host and sustain winter sport programming
A new funding boost is coming to amateur sport in Huntsville following the success of the 2026 Ontario 55+ Winter Games.
Organizers say the event, held in February and featuring nearly 1,000 athletes, generated a surplus of more than 90-thousand dollars. That money has been placed into a Legacy Fund to support local sport development projects.
The fund will be administered by the Huntsville Municipal Accommodation Tax Association and will help support programs aimed at strengthening sport organizations, hosting events, and building participation in the community.
Applications are now open and will be accepted until August 18.
