OPP ask residents to watch for increased pedestrian traffic during Ontario 55+ Winter Games

Thursday, 29 January 2026 07:24

Pedestrians, traffic and parking could become an issue during the games

Huntsville OPP are welcoming athletes, volunteers and visitors arriving for the Ontario 55 Plus Winter Games, running February 3rd through 5th across Huntsville, Lake of Bays, Bracebridge and Burk’s Falls.

With a large number of people expected in the area, police are reminding drivers to be patient and watch for increased pedestrian traffic near event venues. Motorists are also encouraged to lock their vehicles, avoid leaving them running unattended, and fully clear snow to ensure proper visibility.

Parking pressures are expected around the Canada Summit Centre during daytime hours, especially with Huntsville High School in session.

Huntsville OPP say officers will be present throughout the games and encourage everyone to enjoy the events safely and represent the community with pride.
