It was standing room only at the Algonquin Theatre Thursday as Huntsville voters heard from all four mayoral candidates at an election debate hosted by the Rotary Club and Huntsville Doppler.
Scott Morrison, Dan Caswell, Dan Armour and Rebecca Mello faced questions on spending, roads, housing, flooding, healthcare and the town’s future.
The debate also touched on expanded mayoral powers, transparency and keeping Huntsville affordable while preserving its small-town character.
Reaction afterward was mixed. Some attendees said the debate highlighted clear differences between the candidates, with particular attention on Armour’s focus on municipal finances, Caswell's business experience, and Morrison’s larger development proposals.
The election is October 26th.
