The pilot landed on Hwy 11 near Emsdale
A pilot escaped without a scratch Friday evening after making a dramatic emergency landing right on Highway 11.
Just after 6:00 p.m., the single-engine aircraft was heading north toward South River when it was forced down onto the northbound lanes of Highway 11 near Emsdale.
Ontario Provincial Police confirm the pilot was the only person on board and landed safely on the highway without any injuries or damage to the aircraft.
Northbound Highway 11 was briefly shut down while emergency crews moved the plane to the shoulder before towing it away. Transport Canada is now investigating the cause of the incident.
