The outage will occur Tuesday evening into Wednesday morning
Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare is advising of a planned overnight power interruption at South Muskoka Memorial Hospital as part of an infrastructure upgrade.
The outage will run from Tuesday evening into early Wednesday morning, allowing crews to complete work on the hospital’s electrical transfer systems, designed to improve reliability for patient care.
During that time, the hospital’s emergency department will operate at reduced capacity and handle urgent cases only, with some patients redirected to Huntsville District Memorial Hospital.
Officials say extensive planning is in place with emergency services and regional partners to ensure patient safety and continuity of care throughout the upgrade.
