The suspect had a medical emergency while in police custody
Bracebridge OPP are investigating a daytime shoplifting incident in Gravenhurst.
Police say officers were called to a retail store on Muskoka Road South just after 1:20 Thursday afternoon for a theft in progress. When confronted by staff, the suspect fled on foot with several items.
Members of the public followed from a safe distance until officers arrived. Police say the suspect then suffered a medical emergency and was taken to hospital while in custody.
The investigation is continuing.
