Huntsville OPP are reminding drivers that a few simple habits can help prevent vehicle theft.
Police say leaving valuables in plain view — or leaving a vehicle unlocked or running — gives criminals an easy opportunity, especially during colder weather.
Officers are urging motorists to lock their doors, roll up windows, pocket their keys and keep valuables out of sight.
They also recommend parking in well-lit areas whenever possible, saying a quick check before walking away can save drivers from becoming a victim.
