Police say hidden hazards can cause injury or death
OPP are reminding the public to stay safe around waterways and avoid jumping from bridges.
Police say the water may appear calm, but hidden hazards like shallow areas, rocks, debris and strong currents can lead to serious injuries or death.
The risk is also higher when boats are nearby, as operators may not see someone entering the water in time.
Police are encouraging everyone to wear a lifejacket and make safe choices around bridges and recreational areas.
